My Story
I’m Andrew, and I run Digital Forest Studio in Cape Town.
My approach to recording has been shaped by a lifelong connection to music, influenced early on by artists like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Animals.
I studied audio engineering at Cape Audio College before completing a Bachelor of Audio Production at SAE Institute Byron Bay in Australia, where I received the staff award for outstanding achievement and contribution.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked across recording, mixing and production, building Digital Forest Studio into a space focused on creating professional, release-ready music.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists, both locally and internationally, including Glen Power (The Script), Will Linley, Goodluck, Al Bairre, The Plastics, Diamond Thug, Yoav and Porcelain Moon, among others.
Alongside studio work, I’ve also worked on audio for television and commercial projects, including campaigns for Toyota, Olmeca Tequila and Head & Shoulders, and received a Vuka Award for sound design and music.
My focus in the studio is simple — to create an environment where artists can deliver strong performances and leave with something they’re proud of. Whether recording, mixing or developing a project, the aim is always to serve the music and achieve the best possible result.
